Each and every passenger on our bus had to disembark and submit each and every piece of luggage to the (rather primitive looking) scanner at the border. The whole procedure took an hour but concluded without incident. Despite the high level of tension evident among the border police and functionaries, I couldn't resist snapping this photo. I figured if I got into trouble I would claim Canadian innocence.
